Edwards-Pitman Environmental Inc. has a staff of highly qualified architectural historians, historians, and historic preservation planners based in our Smyrna, Georgia office. Our historic architectural resources services include all aspects of the Section 106 compliance process (from early coordination and the identification of consulting parties through historic architectural resource identification and evaluation to the assessment of project effects); municipal and county-level historic architectural resource surveys to support local and state government planning efforts; National Register nominations for individual properties and historic districts; intensive-level architectural surveys sponsored by state historic preservation offices and local governments; historic preservation planning services to assist local commissions; design review guidelines for local historic districts; management plans for historic buildings; and historic rehabilitation tax credit applications for homeowners and investors.
Our staff has extensive experience in Section 106 compliance on a great variety of federally funded or permitted undertakings across the southeastern United States. We has performed Section 106 compliance work for projects located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Our work has been in support of private development activities and local and state government construction projects that require a federal permit and for federally funded construction activities. The lead federal agencies on some of our most recent projects have included the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Federal Transit Authority (FTA), U. S. Coast Guard (USCG), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), National Park Service (NPS), and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
